That’s your imagination. The muscle is already hard…you just noticed in now. Nothing like that happens in a week.
You can totally gain noticeable muscled in a week!
When I first started running the results were dramatic. After a little the rest of your leg will get more muscular too so your calves won’t stand out so much.
Good Luck Running.
P.S- Leg muscle is beautiful
Your gastronomius is where most of the blood will pool while running so it’s optimal to have strong calf muscles. Most stress tests will stick the electro’s there to measure the muscles pumping actions for running. Practice more leg resistance exercises for instance with the hamstrings and quads along with toe and heel raises to balance your whole muscle development or practice some ballet moves and stretches to change the shape of your muscle. Good luck!
Its just the muscle getting more fit, you don’t gain a whole lot of muscle mass from cardio. As for “leaning” the muscles, this just means cardio helps you lose fat, what it really means is that you’re revealing muscles that are already there but coverd up (which is why running is good for guys wanting 6-pack abs, doesn’t matter how many sit ups you do if you can’t see your stomach muscles!).
There’s nothing wrong with a girl with toned, muscular legs (LOTS of guys like that look). Yours aren’t going to get huge running.
However, I do suggest that you add a slight incline, most people I’ve talked to say its easier on your joints on a treadmill to incline 0.5% or 1%.
Hi,
What your experiencing is totally normal. Basically, during and after exercise your muscles fill with fluid which give them an enlarged appearance.
Unfortunately you have not gained that much muscle yet.
